After 25 years of private practice sleep and pulmonary medicine, I joined the faculty of Howard University in June 2015 as Medical Director of the Sleep Disorders Center.

Current research interests include:
1. Evaluation of the prevalence and physiologic impact of sleep disordered breathing in sickle cell disease
2. Effective community outreach strategies to promote recognition and compliance with treatment of sleep apnea in underserved populations
3. Evaluation of the small airways and pulmonary resistance using techniques such as impulse oscillometry and airflow perturbation devices
4. Sleep patterns and associated metabolic effects in African immigrants
